How to Prepare for the Big Game

As athletes, we strive to be the best we can be at our sport or activity.  Have you ever wondered how you should properly prepare for your big competition?

Here I will discuss some strategies you can use in order to make sure you are ready for your big moment.

 

Day and Night Before:

  • Drink water
  • Eat healthy, mainly carbs so you have lots of energy the next day
  • Study the competition you will be facing so you know what to expect
  • Go to bed early and get at least 8 hours of good sleep so you are well rested the next day

Day of:

  • Eat a good healthy breakfast (eggs, toast, cereal, orange juice, milk, etc.)
  • Listen to music or do whatever gets you in the right frame of mind for your competition
  • Pack your equipment and double check that you have everything
  • Leave for your competition with ample time to get there and get accustomed to stage you will be competing on
  • Perform with your heart and let your dedication to your activity show

To ensure you do well in your competition and are at your peak performance for it these tips to make sure your body is ready as well as your head.  These tips give you a checklist to follow to make it seem more manageable and less of a stressful situation.

3 Ways of Training to be Stronger

  1. Eat Healthy
    1. Eating Healthy is one of the main ways of becoming a stronger person because what you put into your body affects how you burn and digest calories. Eating good healthy food while combining with the following steps will ensure that you build muscle and get toned.
  2. Drink Water
    1. Drinking water is the next most important step in building muscle and becoming stronger. Water allows you to get rid of lactic acid in your muscle so that you do not cramp and can keep yourself hydrated.  By staying hydrated you can continue you to lift and get stronger and build muscle.
  3. Lift Weights
    1. Lifting weights is the physical way you can build muscle and get stronger. The longer you stay with it and stay focused you can add weight and do more reps to allow yourself to handle the weight and build muscle to ultimately become stronger as a person.
